This is designed about as simply as possible, there are no fancy tools or complicated joints. This is for basic DIY-minded people who want an affordable, easy-to-build Murphy Bed. If you're a professional woodworker or have a Murphy Bed hardware kit lying around, these aren't the plans for you.
This is designed for a 10-inch Full Size mattress. The couch footprint is 64 inches long and 37 inches wide. When closed, the frame is 12 inches deep and 93 inches high. The bed sits on top of the couch, so it is higher than most Murphy beds, which I prefer. The build still fits in a standard, 8-foot ceiling.
Hardware cost me around $75, plus lumber.
