The simplest and most versatile of all shuttles. Very popular with rigid heddle weavers. Available in 9″, 10″, 12″, 16″, 20″, 24″ and 30″ lengths.
We recommend you choose a stick shuttle slightly longer than the width of your warp. Match the shuttle you use to the width of your warp, not the width of your loom. For example, if you are weaving a 10" wide scarf on a 24" wide loom, you will want to use a 12" stick shuttle. This will make it easy to pass through the shed and grab from the other side of the shed without putting your hands too far into the shed (which would possibly disturb your warp).
The shuttles are 1.5" wide, other then the belt shuttle (2" wide) and the Slim shuttles (1" wide).
The Schacht Belt Shuttle is specially designed for use with inkle looms, with a beveled edge for packing in the weft.
All Schacht stick shuttles are made of hard maple with a Danish oil finish. The 10 and 15" slim shuttles are unfinished.
