These handmade cups were thrown, manipulated and trimmed on a wheel. Once leather hard I was able to add the straw hole to the top. After being bisque fired I added glaze/s to each cup before going into the glaze kiln.

All of my pottery is made from stoneware clay and fired to cone 5, making them highly durable. I threw this piece by hand on an electric potters wheel in my studio space. It was then dried, fired in the electric kiln, glazed, and then fired once more. As all of these pieces are hand-made they are not identical! There are different lines on the clay from my fingers and variations in the glaze, which are unpredictable but just make the pieces more fun to turn in your hands and admire. :)
I use lead-free commercial glazes on all of my pottery, making the pieces food-safe, microwave-safe, oven-safe, and dishwasher-safe. No special handling required! The only thing to avoid with all ceramic or glassware is moving the pieces from one extreme temperature to another, such as moving a casserole dish from the fridge to a pre-heated oven. This thermal-shock can cause items to crack, so please take the time to allow things to warm up or cool down slowly.
