Fabulous, kitschy vintage Blackamoor head vase / planter and/or wall pocket, made by Royal Copley circa 1950s/60s!
Made from ceramic with a glossy glaze in shades of dark brown, blue-gray and ivory-yellow. The design is of a Blackamoor prince or princess with a turban headdress and elaborate jewelry. This larger-sized planter is designed to be placed on a tabletop, but it also has two holes in the back for hanging if you'd prefer a wall pocket vase!
The planter measure approx. 7 1/2" tall and 5" wide. It is stamped Royal Copley on the back.
Very good vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks and the color is lovely and rich; there is general light crazing and a little divot in the folds of the turban that is glazed over so must have happened during the manufacturing process (please see photos!)
I ship very, very carefully with lots of packing materials and double boxes when needed so your items arrive just as they were sent!
