Antique compact in red and black enamel by La Fonteyn. Inside this rare cocktail case is a mirror, face powder with puff & sifter, space for rouge with unused puff, lipstick case with lipstick, cigarette drawer with cigarettes, and a little comb.
The outside is red with black ends, with a marcasite clasp. One end pulls out and still holds 4 cigarettes.
I believe this to be from the Art Deco period. The inside is in very good condition. There are some dinks on the outside (lid and base) and some scratches on the base, which can be seen in the photos. Please look carefully at these as I have tried to photograph any floors.
When closed it measures 11cm x 6cm and is 2.5cm deep. There is no indication of where it was made or who by.
