The Death Star fire pit is fabricated using 2 – 6mm (1/4”) thick wall x 900mm Dia. (36”) mild steel metal hemispheres. We went the extra mile adding in the extra details from top to bottom. Every cut out has a special piece of expanded metal welded in behind. The 36” diameter metal ball sits on a one-of-a-kind base which is also fabricated using a 14” dia. pipe, and several torch-cut metal parts to create the Sci-Fi looking edges on the base structure.
Everything you see was hand cut. Lots of man hours spent on this bad boy.
I am very proud of what I built here and will be sad to see it go.
