Fan or "deshroud" modification kit designed for MSI RTX 4070, 4070 Super, 4070 Ti, 4080, 4080 Super, and 4090 Ventus series graphics cards with the Ventus 3X triple-fan cooler. This kit enables the utilization of two 120mm computer fans and offers two options for sleeved micro 4-pin PWM fan adapter cables. Please keep in mind that the stock fan shroud must be removed prior to installation.
This kit comes with mounting hardware that includes 8x 30mm M4 screws, which are suitable for use with standard 25mm thick fans. However, I also offer slim and thick fan covers, along with screws of different lengths, to accommodate both thinner and thicker fans.
Update as of August 2, 2024: All kits now include black metal screws as the default option. If you prefer nylon screws for reduced weight and vibration, please indicate this in the order notes, and I will include those instead.
If you are using thicker 30mm fans like the Phanteks T30 or low-profile 15mm fans such as the Noctua NF-A12x15, please make sure to mention it in the order notes. By doing so, I will provide you with the matching cover that fits perfectly with your specific fans. Additionally, I will include the appropriate length of screws needed to securely mount your fans.
In case you don't specify your fan type, I will continue to ship the standard cover and screws, which are designed to be compatible with standard 25mm fans.
The existing shroud screws are reused to mount this bracket. Please be aware that installing this bracket may void your warranty, so it is recommended to check with your video card's manufacturer before proceeding. Installation requires both a precision screwdriver and a regular screwdriver. This kit has been tested to fit inside the Cooler Master NR200 ITX series case, and should fit larger cases as well. The total height of a Ventus 3X RTX 4070 card after modification measures 71 mm. Please note, adjustments may be necessary for the varying thickness/width of other models.
Testing configuration:
- Ambient temperature 24.0 C, Noctua NF-A12 PWM x2, open bench, FurMark GPU stress test 1.33.0.0 @ 15 minutes
Testing results:
- Stock shroud cooler, triple fans @ 2200 RPM: 64 C
- Deshroud kit, Noctua NF-A12 PWM x2 @ 2000 RPM: 58 C (for maximum performance)
- Deshroud kit, Noctua NF-A12 PWM x2 @ 1300 RPM: 64 C (to reduce noise)
By adjusting the fan curve for performance, we observed a 6-degree temperature decrease. At this speed (2000 RPM), the two Noctua fans were still quieter than the three stock fans running at 2200 RPM. Similarly, when we adjusted the fan curve to reduce noise, we were able to achieve the same performance as the stock fans running at full speed but with significantly less noise, with the Noctua fans only needing to run at 1300 RPM.
Temperature reduction may vary depending on your hardware configuration.
Please note that the optional cables use a micro 4-pin connector designed to connect to the fan headers on the video card. These cables won't work with regular sized fan headers on motherboards.

Q: What type of plastic are you using to build these brackets? Won’t the heat melt the plastic?
A: I use Acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA), a thermoplastic that is widely used in the automotive industry as an alternative to acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). ASA has improved thermal resistance and a glass transition temperature of 112 C, which means it starts to soften (not melt) at that temperature. Most RTX cards' thermal shutdown temperature is around 100 C, which is 12 C lower than the softening temperature of ASA. Additionally, the kit's installation often results in lower temperatures due to the increased airflow and static pressure of the larger fans.
