16' Custom Cedar Strip Canoe made to order. We make our canoes out of Western Red Cedar, Aromatic Cedar and Spanish Cedar for the hull, Ash for the keel, gunwales, yoke and seat frames, and a combination of hardwoods for the front and rear decks. The Companion canoe that is pictured is 16' long, weighs 60lbs, and can hold 2 people. It has beautiful upswept ends with nice looking lines all the way around. We use fiberglass cloth, with a couple coats of epoxy resin and a couple coats of a high quality marine varnish on the outside, fiberglass cloth with one coat of resin and one coat of varnish on the inside. This creates a high gloss slick finish on the outside and leaves the inside a little textured to give your feet more grip. We glue and clamp each piece in place, and when the final piece is in, sand it to give a smooth even hull inside and out.
