c. 1920s; Belmet Products, Inc. - Brooklyn Iconic chrome rolling ashtray with wooden veneer accents. This piece was designed and manufactured by Belmet, a metal-stamping company that has been operating out of the Bronx (and originally Brooklyn) for 100 years. The sturdy construction and mechanism allow the ashtray to glide smoothly in any direction, similar to a Segway. When pushed, it will roll and gently sway back and forth, always returning to an upright position when it comes to a stop. Exhibits moderate signs of wear including scuffs, tarnish, and some rust.
