From a local estate sale. A vintage 1960 Double Wedding Design handmade quilt. I have some history on this lovely beauty. It was given to the couple as a wedding gift. How fitting to use the Double Wedding Pattern. The woman loved and used it for over 60 years. It has a wonderful patina that only comes with age. Looks to have been all hand stitched. The quilting stitches are tiny and even. There are stains which I tried to show in the pics. It had/has thin cotton batting. Backing is blue and the backing was brought to the front for binding. It is in sad shape, but still has use as a cutter quilt. Some sections look usable. It smells faintly of cedar, probably from being relegated to a cedar chest. Always happy to combine postage.
