The Do The Right Thing Air Jordan 3, or "DTRT" for short, marked the first time a sneaker colorway was made for one of the most important "sneaker related’ films ever made. Spike Lee’s film, Do The Right Thing, came out back in 1989 and became a cult classic amongst sneaker enthusiasts because of scene in which the character Buggin’ Out’s Air Jordan 4 gets stepped on. Obviously it wasn’t the White Cements that inspired the DTRT Jordan 3 but rather the cover of the movie and posters that featured a blue design with yellow writing that became the colorway of the Do The Right Thing AJ3. Although if you were to watch the movie today, that clip will probably make you sad because of the $100 price tag (that’s $108 after tax). The DTRT Air Jordan 3 featured a nubuck blue upper with yellow and white accents, finished off with the lime green Jumpman logo on the tongue and throughout the visible Air unit in the heel. The official color combo was actually "Brisk Blue/Pro Gold-Radiant Green" for those keeping track. As with most non-OG colorways, it was dismissed at first, then over time the Air Jordan 3 "DTRT" picked up a following and can fetch well over the 2007 retail price of $135.
