Fire is a spin-off of the Life is Precious Survival Kit that we designed for the Handmade Exhibition in Milan during Salone Del Mobile in 2013. After receiving an overwhelming amount of requests to sell the kit, we decided to release this piece. Our original version is machined from solid brass and demonstrates the impressive weight of brass each time it is picked up.This waterproof fire kit contains strike anywhere matches. The canister is engraved with “Fire - Light & Warmth – Strike on bottom” instructing the user to use the roughened bottom of the canister as the striker. 3 3/4 in x 1 1/8 in.  CAUTION: For adult use only. Strike matches away from the body, being careful of bystanders and sparks. Monitor lit matches until completely burned; run under water to be certain match is no longer lit.   FS Objects is the home goods division of Fort Standard, a contemporary design studio and manufacturer based in Red Hook, Brooklyn.  Our approach to design explores the interplay of natural materials and modern production processes, creating distinctive designs rooted in simplicity and functionality.
