We love the patina but we understand that some may not. With that said, you may also seal the interior of the pot with a stone sealer found at your local hardware store. However, if you do seal them, the terracotta will lose its porous quality and that isn’t as good for your plant roots. They will work beautifully with a nursery pot placed directly inside of them and that’s the best way to slow any patina (watermarks & soil marks) while allowing the roots to breathe.
