Mood: Something moves beneath the still, dark waters. A shadow, a shape, surfacing briefly, then gone again, no trace left behind. Smells Like: peppery bergamot and cypress drowning in dark waters. ---------- Beneath the surface of the dark, deep lake, a shadow slides through weeds and murk. Fish bolt to hide amongst the reeds at its approach. Its serpentine body undulates through the cold, black waters, ever searching, ever listening. Above the sun gleams weakly through the icy waters. The creature rises, mud and water stirred in its wake. Its powerful muscles propel it to the surface. It breaks free, breaching the waves with a mighty splash. Birds and beasts fall silent as it writhes briefly. It churns the water into a froth. Its jaws open in a great hiss before it once again dives leaving only ripples and bubbles behind as it disappears once more into the depths of the loch.
