SLAM’s Legacy Collection dives inside the archives to bring back some college basketball classics. '98 Wildcat Legacy Under first year head coach Tubby Smith, the '97-98 Kentucky Wildcats finished the regular season 29-4 winning both the SEC regular season title and the SEC Tournament crown.  The Wildcats earned the No. 2 seed in the South Region of the NCAA Tournament where they made quick work of South Carolina State, Saint Louis and UCLA before mounting one of the greatest comebacks in tournament history agains No. 1 seed Duke to reach the Final Four. An overtime win over Stanford followed by a 9 point win against Utah gave the Cats their 7th National Championship.
