Around the solstice, northern Iceland experiences near 24-hour darkness, with temperatures falling as low as -30°C (-22°F). Jokla was created because it had to be. Jokla is a parka, and a tool. The exterior of Jokla is made from a ruggedized Cordura nylon that was selected for its extreme durability and abrasion-resistance. A water-repellent coating, taped seams, and coated chest zippers make Jokla waterproof. Finally, over a pound of premium 800-fill white goose down keeps out the cold. Adjustments on the hood, waist, hem, and sleeves allow for personalized fit (or a spot of extra weatherproofing.) Our down comes from a long-time German supplier, who has been certified in accordance with the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) Downpass, and the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. The fox fur used is VET-certified and comes from Saga Furs, a heritage Finnish fur supplier whose supply chain audits and animal welfare programs met our rigorous standards. Please be advised that if Jokla’s fox fur ruff should get soaked, it should be carefully let dry at room temperature. Please also be advised that temperatures that produce rain may be too warm for Jokla.
