Over a period of time, the chemical in the gel breaks down and the efficacy and performance of the pad is not guaranteed. It is important that your AED program track both pad and battery expirations to ensure that your AED is always fully rescue-ready.</p><p>With the use of the OPTIONAL infant/child KEY, the FRx converts to a pediatric AED that delivers a&nbsp;reduced shock energy to a child less than 8 years of age and weighing less than 55 lbs. This is not only&nbsp;economical (only one set of pads purchased for dual adult/child usage), but also low maintenance for&nbsp;AED management.</p>
