In rock and on gravel, added protection comes from Firestone's "long-link" rubber formulations that are treadwear and cracking resistant. This same rubber is in the sidewall of the tire to protect against curbing or damage from off-road hazards. Like earlier generation Firestone Destination M/T tires, the MT2 features O-bead technology. This improves uniformity and ride comfort through the use of a single continuous strand of cable in the bead construction. The tire also has a large rim guard to protect the wheels.</p>
