After applying the appropriate thread tape to the cold water male inlet on the top of the water heater, screw the TankTee into place until hand tight. Tighten slightly with pliers to ensure a leak free seal. Screw the expansion tank directly to the TankTee after applying thread tape. To finish the project simply insert the pipe into the push-to-connect to allow the high-strength stainless steel teeth to grip the pipe securely against the specially designed O-ring. Fitting removal and reuse is just as simple using a simple demount clip (sold separately). After assembly, fittings may be rotated for simpler installation in tight spaces.
