Medium-soft wood that "gives" to preserve the edge of your knife. Both sides of the cutting board can be used. Care Instructions: Wash the board with a mild detergent, towel dry, and let it air dry out of direct sunlight. Staining is normal. Wet the board prior to use. It stains appear, buff the area with a cut lemon. Knife marks are normal and indicate that your blades are staying sharp. Flip the board periodically and use both sides for even wear. Mineral oil can be applied to further protect your board.
