In the case of the dyed garment already having printed artwork on it , the fabric softener may cause the printed ink to fade or crack.  For any custom dyed items, we highly recommend that you run a test sample with your printers/finishers before ever proceeding with bulk production as some dye styles may have a poly-blocker base that may cause dye migration and/or may run slightly smaller compared to other stock styles.
