To open the C1 lock, residents unlock the door using the Latch app. Unlike the Latch C2 lock, the C1 has a powered throw and is a keyed lock. This means that the deadbolt can be opened using the app (it does not have to be opened manually). This lock also offers space for a physical key so residents can unlock with a key or using the Latch app, keycard, door code, or Apple Watch.
