All around good
I bought it before I went back to school. I love it. I can use it all day no matter what I am doing. The only disadvantage is the shell has a matte finish that collects dirt and dust and scratches easily. That is just a minor point.

not impressed
I was given this helmet by my employer and I gave it an honest try. I have an older 7300 series (a bit beat up) and I have switched back to it. The inability to put the helmet up far enough to keep it up drives me nuts, I'm trying to do layout and it keeps creeping down, the side retainers don't hav...e enough grip. It has a "click" open point but if you put it high enough to engage it you can't do the head whip to get the helmet to come down. and the "clunk" resounding through my skull as it engages and disengages p*sses me. The electronics are so so, they turn off and then you have to 'boot" the helmet to changes the modes, I still prefer the analog controls on the inside, that way I can be assured what mode its going to engage in when I pickup after its "gone to sleep". also the internal touchpad is prone to burns from welding sparks, And I firmly believe i would find myself having to replace the electronics unit because of this if I continued to use the helmet for my job. I guess that's why they are not rated for overhead welding which ultimately makes them useless for my line of work were i find myself under things fixing them as I find myself actually manufacturing in flat position

Hood is absolutely beautiful! Pictures don't do this justice. I'm extremely happy with Miller making a more feminine hood for once.

As a new welder I appreciate how quickly I could use the helmet right out of the box with minimal setup and orientation.

Q
If your optical clarity is rated at: Optical Clarity EN(379) 1/1/1/2 how does clear light 4x technology make this hood better than 1/1/1/1?
Asked by DJ 2 months agoAdd your answer
Verified Reply
Verified Reply - Dustin• A perfect EN optical clarity with the fourth rating (1/1/1/1), sacrifices up to 50% reduced visibility as benchmarked by ANSI light tests – One cannot meet the highest optical clarity benchmarks in both • Visibility is the priority for welders • A welding helmet with EN 1/1/1/2 rating can have up to 4X better clarity benchmarked under Z87.1 compared to leading 1/1/1/1-rated helmetsWas this answer helpful to you
