Copper, a natural antimicrobial chemical, is significantly less oxidizing than chlorine or bleach. In cases of high copper levels, copper may start to precipitate on solid surfaces; however, this can be prevented by regularly monitoring the copper content of the water. If copper levels become too high, temporarily removing the ionizer can resolve the issue.
