Quick Chai Brewing
Ingredients:
12 oz (1.5 cups) water
1 heaping tablespoon classic chai
2-3 teaspoons Assam black tea
4-6 oz (1/2 - 3/4 cup) milk (dairy or non-dairy)
Sweetener (sugar, honey, or alternative)
Instructions:
Heat 12 oz (1.5 cups) of water in a pot until it reaches 185-205°F (85-96°C).
Add 1 heaping tablespoon of chai spice blend to the hot water. Simmer the spices for 3-5 minutes.
Remove the pot from heat and add 2-3 teaspoons of black tea to the spiced water. Cover the pot and let the tea steep for 3-4 minutes.
Stir in 4-6 oz (1/2 - 3/4 cup) of milk (adjust to your preference) and sweeten to taste with sugar or honey.
Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the chai tea into a mug, discarding the used spices and tea leaves.
