Dermaplaning, also known as epidermal leveling, utilizes a scalpel to remove the top layer of the epidermis and vellus hair. We always recommend checking with your state board. </p> <p> </p> <p>If you are an esthetician or cosmetologist in Massachusetts, the Board of Cosmetology requires 16 hours of training to be certified. This fulfills part of that requirement, but additional hands-on is required.
