Subadults-Adults 2” - 3” These spiders are the original Huntsman spider as they were the type species for the genus Heteropoda. Originally described as Aranea venatoria all the way back in 1767 by Swedish taxonomist Carl Linnaeus. These spiders are sexually dimorphic upon maturity and reach a leg span of well over 3 inches in some cases, depending on their locality.
