LABEL: WARNERVINYL RELEASE DATE: DECEMBER 2024ORIGINAL RELEASE DATE: 04/11/2004VARIANT: Frankenstein w/ Etched D-Side or Cool Blue Vinyl w/ Etched D-Side 2LP
Killswitch Engage’s The End of Heartache on 2LP on exclusive “cool blue” & “Frankenstein” wax (pressing of 500). These variants feature bonus tracks, redesigned art and a custom side 3 etching by bassist Mike D'Antonio.
While it certainly built off the success of 2002 breakthrough Alive or Just Breathing, Killswitch Engage were looking a little different by the time they delivered their gold-selling follow-up, 2004’s The End of Heartache. Vocalist Howard Jones had taken over from Jesse Leach between the releases, bringing both a deeply soulful croon and a thick-necked howl to the hard-chugging complexity being doled out by guitarist/producer Adam Dutkiewicz. Heartache throbs through moments of melodeath speediness, metalcore savagery and anthemic sing-alongs. A major turning point within an iconic catalogue, now pressed-up and available on limited Cool Blue or Frankenstein vinyl.
