Our latex is made from pure rubber tree sap.  We use organic wool as our fire barrier, and it is selected from only the finest sheep farms in New Zealand.  Our cotton is 100% organically grown in the cotton fields of Texas. Caring for a Soaring Heart Organic Latex Mattress is easy. • Keep your mattress on a slatted bed frame off the ground. This provides proper ventilation, stopping moisture buildup. • Flip your mattress every 3 to 6 months. • Always use a mattress pad. The mattress pad protects the mattress from body moisture, spills and accidents. You can clean a mattress pad, you can't clean a mattress. For more care instructions and tips, visit our Care page. Does the mattress need to be on a slatted frame? Our 100% Dunlop Latex Mattress needs air circulation. Whether that is in the form of a slatted frame/ foundation or Tatami Mats, we ask that you keep the mattress off the floor and prevent it from getting wet and staying wet. How long does the mattress usually last? Not only is Dunlop latex extremely resilient and flexible, it is also designed to be sturdy for long periods of time. Most of our mattresses really do last for 20+ years without taking an impression and customers are overjoyed with their purchase. When you say “Firm,” what does that exactly mean? Our Firm Latex Mattress has an ILD range (Indentation Load Deflection) of 28-32. This is the industry standard for a Firm Mattress. Most average size adults find the Extra Firm Mattress to be too firm and the Soft to have too much of a sinking feeling which is why suggest adding a topper to the mattress to find your perfect comfort zone.
