Scales for the Original 940 with the long purple backspacer have now been upgraded by adding two Titanium round barrel spacers and the necessary screws to replace the long purple backspacer. If you have this version 940, make sure to select that option in the dropdown menu. If you don't see that option, send us a message that you have this version and send a picture of the label on your box your 940 came in or a picture of your 940 to show the purple backspacer to ask us for upgrade options.   INSTALLATION: You can use the hardware from the factory knife you purchase separately (*Installation of the scales requires some basic tools and knowledge. You will need a good torx bit set to remove the screws and pivots. The pivot can be tough to remove if you don't know what you are doing. You can search YouTube for more instructions or email me. NOTE: Disassembly of any knife is not covered under the original manufacturer's Warranty.   Black ZIRCONIUM: Pure Zirconium (Zr Atomic number 40) is a lustrous, grey-white, very strong, lightweight and hypoallergenic metal that closely resembles hafnium and, to a lesser extent, titanium. Zirconium is extremely resistant to heat and corrosion and it is lighter than steel. Through my own heating process, I create a unique appearance, that's called "Black Zirconium" or "Oil Slick". Through this high heat, a layer of extremely hard black oxide grows on the metal. This thin black layer is much harder than pure Zirconium, which does not rub off over time. Therefore, it is more durable than black-coated items, such as black tungsten and titanium. This "black" or "Oil Slick" color is permanent, it does not fade, tarnish, or change color.   Zr WEIGHT: ~59gr   FLAMING is not a scientific process; it's done by hand and colors may slightly vary.
