Description and usage notes:
Widely used neutral solvent, non-flammable, non-sticky. Very useful because its LogP value at ~2.42 is mid-way between IPM (7.25) and DPG (0.59) meaning it can be used with a wide variety of perfumery materials. Has somewhat fallen out of favour following the discovery of health problems caused by other phthalates that have resulted in the "phthalate free" label becoming commonplace.
Has some fixative properties.
