The Jug didn’t become a traveling trophy until 1909, still qualifying it as the oldest such trophy in major college football. Adorned with scores from every game for over a century of Big Ten gridiron action, The Brown Jug is neither little nor brown. This thirty cent purchase from a Minnesota general store is, however, recognized beyond Big Ten borders as a symbol of the conference’s unmatched tradition.<br></p>
<p>This Brown Jug stands 12 inches, and has a diameter of 8 1/2 inches. It weighs about 5 lbs. </p>
