Features
Shells – Crafted from 9-ply, 6mm Bubinga for toms and floor toms, with a 7mm bass drum, this shell composition offers a sharper and more aggressive attack with exceptionally deep, rich lows. African bubinga wood is approximately 53% harder than maple and birch, providing enhanced acoustic qualities. Tama’s bubinga shells are slightly thicker than their maple counterparts, maximizing the drums’ sound potential.
Minimum Shell Contact
Tama’s design team is constantly innovating ways to boost drum resonance. Even the smallest design enhancements contribute to noticeable sound improvements. Examples include a metal-free, imprinted insignia instead of a traditional metal badge and a maple soundhole to replace the conventional metal one, which helps enhance resonance.

The Hold Tight washer is a unique, non-loosening washer with a cup-shaped stainless steel structure containing a rubber ring. This prevents vibrations from loosening the tension rod, maintaining stable tuning.
