Hybrid brewing is a hot topic - with many fans. While we are percolation nuts, we do appreciate the positive impacts immersion can have with some types of coffee. We decided to make hybrid brewing available via a super simple adapter that plugs into the original HARIO Switch base. Now you have the power to control gravity - in our fast zero bypass brewer!     STEEP The Hario Switch is the simplest tool for immersion brewing - a silicone structure with a locking mechanism inside. A metal ball plugs the hole and prevents water from flowing, creating a complete suspension of flow. Steeping can help improve body and texture and slightly increase extraction and has been a favourite method for many brewing competitors and home brewers alike.   RELEASE Once your brew has stepped, you just press the Switch to let the liquid flow. The drawdown is quite quick since we use the fast flowing SIBARIST paper filter. This ensures quick drainage and gives you the control over steep time, making recipe construction and brewing more precise. We love the simple Switch mechanism and really wanted to bring this to the new Z1 brewer.     CONNECT If you already have a Hario Switch, you can simply buy our connector. Just screw it onto the Z1 funnel and plug it into the Hario Switch and voila - immersion unlocked! We worked hard to make a simple integration that can be both affordable and use as little material as possible. We hope you will enjoy this awesome integration!   EXPLORE We already have some amazing recipes on our guides, adapted from world brewing champions and bright minds around the world. But we urge you to unlock the explorer inside and really try to push this method. If you do find some awesome recipes, do share them with us and we'd be very happy to share them with the world!   MATERIALS  The adapter body is made from BPA free Tritan, the same material as the Z1 Brewer. It also contains a metal screen that serves as the brewing base, made of food grade Stainless Steel.  The HARIO Switch base is the original product manufactured by Hario in Taiwan, with a cast metal switch (rather than the plastic switch seen in earlier versions). The base itself is made from food-grade silicone. All-in-all, you get the best from both companies, high quality plastic and silicone with metal components.  Both items are Made in Taiwan.    COLOURS Both the adapter and the Switch come in BLACK only.    FINAL VERSION NOTICE Please note that our photos are based on the final pre-production sample.
