Here is what Au Ver a Soie say about the thread: "This silk is loosely plyed and can be split easily. The name "Alger" refers to a special domestic process.
It is made of the best quality spun silk (called strusas)which gives it an unrivalled regularity, lustrous and softness. The thread does not snarl in the needle and has a good tensile strength. It resists also very well to abrasion. We make great care, great pains to see that this product is properly made. It is considered as a reference thread in all needlework activities. Dyed in skeins to guarantee an homogeneous colour."
PLEASE NOTE: YOU ARE MAKING THE FIRST PAYMENT OF THIS THREAD CLUB IN ADVANCE. THE FIRST PACK WILL BE MAILED OUT IN THE LAST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER DUE TO SUMMER HOLIDAYS IN FRANCE FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST. You will then be billed each month in advance of the next thread delivery. Eg: pay in August for September delivery, pay in September for October delivery etc.
