The panel cutlist is a good starting point and a suggestion, but you are free to cut however you see fit on your panels.  A single 20" wide cabinet with drawers takes a single 4'x8' sheet of 3/4" and a single 4'x8' sheet of 1/2" plywood. I built a 10' run of base cabinets for $480 plus the cost of glue, screws, drawer pulls, and countertop. The cost of plywood and consumables will vary.
