Hello, my name is Thabi. I am from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. I regard myself as a determined, dedicated and disciplined individual. I have a neutral accent. I am a native English speaker. As an English tutor I have prepared individualized educational plans aligning with students’ needs and interests. I help students to strengthen their pronunciation, grammar, spelling and writing. I pride myself on being patient with my students because I can empathize with the feeling of trying something new and worrying about making mistakes.
I have a BA Degree in English Studies and Psychology and also a BA Honours Degree in English Studies.My teaching style is patient and warm. In my classes I actively promote a flexible, supportive and dynamic learning environment and encourage my students to challenge the material I also aim to teach students according to their needs and personal goals. For every student, I develop a syllabus and curriculum. Within each lesson, I make use of select material and provide tasks and assignments to reinforce students’ comprehension of work. With younger students I make use of props and bright flashcards to encourage their engagement.
