Mercury 35-802893T Water Separating Fuel Filter
This OEM Fuel Filter is designed to separate water and other impurities from your fuel with its unique filtration system. This filtration system screens particles smaller than 1/1000th of an inch from your fuel. The filter's metal shell features a powder coat finish for corrosion resistance in fresh and saltwater marine environments.The filters internal surfaces are coated in an epoxy finish to resist rust and provide a long working life.
It is recommended that you change your fuel filter after every 100 hours of normal use or minimally once per season.

Provides warranty protection on Mercury, Mariner, and Force outboards as well as Mercury MerCruiser Sterndrives and Inboards
Fits all Mercury, Mariner, and Force outboards that are equipped with externally mounted water separating fuel filter bases
Fits all MerCruiser applications except certain 1992 model MerCruiser 4.3 Generation II engines and 2004-2010 MPI engines with Gen3 fuel cool module
For use on 2-Cycle and 4-Cycle engines. Will NOT filter out 2-cycle oil

Mercury Fuel Filter Installation Instructions
Unscrew the old filter and clean mounting base. Make sure the old gasket is also removed
Apply a thin coat of engine oil to filter gasket and make sure the gasket is seated properly in the base of filter
To prevent air from entering the fuel system, fill the filter with fuel
Screw on until the gasket contacts the base and tighten 2/3 to 1 full turn
Run engine and check for leaks
