The Tassel Opening is cut roughly 1/4" smaller than the size listed to keep your diploma or picture in place. Actual frame size (finished size) is 19.5x14.5". Actual glass size (inside size) is 17.5 x 12.5". It also included a tassel opening that is either 1.5x8" or 1.5x10" depending on the diploma size. The mats are high quality 4-ply double mats, which are lignin free, pH-neutral and have bevel cut edges. Top mat color: black. Bottom mat color: gold. This frame is 1.25" wide and 0.7500" high. It has a 0.25" lip (the part that covers the mats) and a 0.4375" rabbet (space between the lip and back of the frame).
