Redefining the Center Position... The Memphis Grizzlies have announced that Marc Gasol's jersey will be retired on April 6 this season. Gasol will be the second former Grizzlies player to have his jersey in the rafters, joining former teammate Zach Randolph. In Gasol's first NBA season from 2008-2009, had averaged 11.9 ppg and 7.4 rpg, on his way to being named to the All-Rookie 2nd Team. Throughout his 11 seasons in Memphis, Gasol was a 3x All-Star, redefined the center position with his fine playmaking ability, was named to the 2015 All-NBA 1st Team and was the Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.
