For lumbar covers, the finished size of the cover you order will measure approximately one inch shorter and one inch narrower than your insert to ensure a proper fit. PRO TIP: the 12x16 size is rather small, so please consider your space carefully. Once stuffed, an 11x15 cover can shrink an inch or two in the length and the height. Same can be said of the 11x20 size -- it, too, is smaller when stuffed. 11x15 covers (for 12x16 inserts) may not be returned for refund or exchange.

***** Why a down/feather insert? ******
Your pillow cover has been cut with squared corners. When stuffing a pillow cover that has square corners, it is possible to take the corner of the insert and stuff it into the corner of the pillow cover. This allows the soft fill to settle into those sharp edges. It is not possible to do this with a polyester-fill pillow since they are stiffer, resulting in an ill fit with "dog ears" at the corners.
Allergic to down? There are good alternatives. Synthetic down or bamboo will give a similar effect to down and feather.
