This is a glam 90s stretch velvet gown by "Jump Apparel"! It's a heavy, soft and figure flattering velvet in deep midnight blue, with hundreds of small prong set crystals on it! They are dense at the top and disperse as they go down the dress, a lovely touch. It has a straight neckline, velvet spaghetti straps, a flowy floor length hem and an alluring deep center back slit. Perfectly stretchy, it's a pullover with no closures. The inside of the velvet is very smooth with a satin finish.
It's in good clean condition with a persistent perfume smell. I would describe it as being a very clean, floral baby powder type of scent, not offensive to me or my model, but it is there - in case you are sensitive to any odors! The dress looks very clean and I don't see any signs of wear or flaws. The label says "Jump Apparel Co. by Wendye Chaitin, Size 7/8." There's no care tag but this is likely polyester velvet with Spandex. Wendye Chaitin designed Junior and Missy sized special occasion dresses for Jump Apparel starting in 1996, which were sold at Macy's, Dillard's, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom's and Bloomingdale's. Before that, she was the head designer of Blondie & Me and the senior designer at Betsy's Things. This info comes from Chaitin's LinkedIn resume. The size "7/8" was vintage Junior Sizing - it fits like a Women's Small to Medium and measures:
Chest - stretchy, 32 to 36 inches,
Waist - 28 to 32 inches,
Hips - 36 to 42 inches,
Length - 62 inches.
Our model Beau is 5'4" tall and her measurements are 36-28-35. She usually wears a Women's Small or Medium.
