The halter and lead is made of Biothane®, a coated webbing that is waterproof, fade-resistant, soft and pliable, stronger than leather, washable, and comes in a rainbow of colors. The halter is a standard size that is adjustable to fit lambs from 60 pounds (recently weaned) to adult. It will last the life span of a 4-H or FFA project animal.
The lead is an original design that can't be found on a standard halter at a farm and ranch store. I designed it after watching dozens of my 4-H club youth fumble with rope halters that turn inside out and nylon halters with chain leads that hurt their hands. This lead has a section of chain under the chin giving young kids an advantage in handling, followed by Biothane® with a loop for easy walking. The lead also features a bolt snap and D-ring making it quick and simple for kids (or adults) to tie lambs securely.
Traditional nylon halters absorb water and take hours to dry after you bath your lamb at the show. Biothane® is waterproof and will dry almost instantly. No more soggy halters falling in the dirt after bathing your lamb at the show.
