Lovely formal full-length strapless deadstock dress from the 1950s. Never been worn, with tags. The dress is a peachy/pink iridescent taffeta fabric paired with an asymmetrical striped taffeta. The bodice is strapless with a fitted surplice bodice featuring a sweetheart neckline, one side of the solid taffeta, the other of the striped. Ridgeline boning along the princess and side seams. There is a striped ruched drape at the hip backed in netting for extra fullness. Center back plastic zipper. The skirt has an asymmetrical solid draped layer over the striped layer. There is a white netting petticoat with a ruffle at the hem to give the skirt some oomph. Since the taffeta is an iridescent, it looks pink, peach and almost yellow depending on the light. I would call it pink but the tag says the color is peach. Label: Nadine Int. At first I thought the fabric was a bit discolored but the taffeta is described as iridescent on the tag so I do believe it is the nature of the fabric depending on the light. The dry cleaner used pins to hang the dress so there are some pin marks. may be able to steam them out, see pics. Some stress to the center hanging loop. Dry cleaned and ready to wear.
