ESP Technical House in Japan is considered the preeminent ESP Custom Shop, specializing in masterfully crafted, built-to-order custom guitars. This SN model features a densely figured birdseye maple top with a Cherry transparent gloss finish, an ash body, birdseye maple slab fretboard, and a USA-made Floyd Rose vibrato. The Seymour Duncan neck and bridge position blade humbuckers offer singing high gain cut and precision, with a middle position Lace Sensor Silver that has enhanced midrange and output while still delivering a vintage Strat-flavored top end sparkle. Weighing 9lbs 5oz, this Technical House ESP is set up with 9-42 strings, spot-on intonation, and low action. The one-piece maple neck has a fast-feeling, slender C shaped profile with enough shoulder to still feel substantial. The profile measures .835” deep at the first fret and .930” at the 12th. The stunning and generous slab birdseye maple fingerboard sports abalone inlay on the two octave range, as well as the original medium jumbo frets. The frets show just a some wear under the plain strings on frets 1-2, with minimal wear further up the fingerboard. The scale length measures 25 1/2“ and the locking nut 1 5/8“ wide. On the headstock the original set of H.A.P.M. 510 Double Speed Lock tuners are present with pearloid buttons, and the face sports a celluloid tortoise flame overlay and ESP abalone inlay. All of the electronics work as they should, with a five-way pickup selector, two-way boost switch, and Master Volume and Tone knobs governing the trio of pickups. All of the chrome hardware is extremely clean, and the Floyd Rose vibrato comes complete with the original arm, actuating easily for deep divebombs and more subtle expressive work. The eye-catching birdseye maple top complements the birdseye fretboard, and is accentuated by a white pearloid pickguard and figured maple binding. Cosmetically, the top is clean, with one small scratch on the bass side lower bout edge near the binding. The back has a handful of light and shallow scratches in the finish, and the headstock as a singular small ding at the top edge. Slight discoloration near the pick-up selector.
