IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE--This unit was originally listed at a much lower price because of the fact that it was occasionally throwing the "system down: unregistrated interrupt" error message common to S90s which need to have capacitors replaced. That processor IC recapping has been done by my Authorized Yamaha Service Center (Sportiesound of Hendersonville, TN) and the problem has been eliminated. The price as now listed reflects the additional cost of the service having been completed. HOWEVER... I have recently acquired an S90 top panel that is in very good cosmetic condition. It is my plan to remove the current top panel of this unit and replace it with the much better looking one, as well as a pair of either refinished factory side panels or a pair of our own custom made red oak panels. This work involves transferring all the circuit boards over to the other top panel. I am doing this because it will add considerable value to the unit and enable it to command a much higher price (I just sold a similar unit for $800.) Therefore I will be taking down this listing as soon as I commence work on the unit--probably as early as this weekend. Until then, and because it has been listed in this condition for some time, I wish to offer a last chance to anyone who might be interested in it as is to get it at this price. YAMAHA S90 88-key digital synthesizer / stage piano. The S90 is essentially a first generation Motif 8 but without the sampling feature. It shares the same Balanced Hammer Effect action and the entire Motif voice set but also has a beautiful three-layer S700 piano that the Motif 8 did not come with. Like the first two generations of Motif, the S90 also allows the addition of up to three Modular Synthesis Plug-In System boards which can provide alternative methods of synthesis and additional polyphony. This unit is in poor cosmetic condition with many scratches and a few dings (see pictures), but it plays very well. It has been thoroughly cleaned inside with all debris, stray guitar picks and bits of broken keys removed. The pitch bend and modulation wheels, which were loose and wobbly were removed, cleaned, tightened back up to spec and reinstalled. In addition, the five missing feet on the bottom have been replaced with brand new ones and any missing screws in the bottom of the case have been replaced. The entire action has been reseated, the keyframe tightened down, all broken keys replaced and all key springs reset and realigned. It now plays smoothly and evenly with no sticking keys and all keys returning to the correct height. Electronically it is fully functional. It is admittedly something of an "ugly duckling," but it plays like a beautiful swan. As with all my listings, I will hand deliver this item anywhere within a 50 mile radius of Nashville TN and save the buyer the shipping cost.
