California National Guard Commendation Medal Ribbon Criteria: This is the California National Guard Commendation Medal Ribbon. It is awarded to any member of the California National Guard that he/she distinguishes themselves while serving in any capacity by meritorious service or achievement to the state of California or the United States. The criteria or meritorious service or achievement is accomplished with distinction but is less than what is required for the California Medal of Merit. This award can be earned more than once and is shown with bronze, silver, and gold oak leaf clusters.
