INFO This reposado begins in the barrel using our amazing blanco to get the process started. The blanco is rested in lightly charred used American oak bourbon barrels for four to five months. After resting, the blanco is now transformed into our reposado. This critical time in oak imparts incredible flavors which creates a smooth, easy drinking tequila. Together, rocker Sammy Hagar and chef Guy Fieri found their virtuoso with Juan Eduardo Nuñez, the third-generation master distiller from the famed distillery El Viejito, founded in 1937, in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Sammy’s history of making world-renowned tequila, Guy’s world-famous taste buds, and Juan Eduardo’s award-winning craftsmanship, bring to life the portfolio of Santo spirits; a sinfully smooth old world style tequila blanco, an oak-aged reposado, and the world’s first mezquila. We believe that each Santo spirit delivers a taste experience that transcends the ordinary. So, seize the moment, drink from the cup, and let your spirit soar.   THE DISTILLERY El Viejito (the little old man) The first tequila of Atotonilco! The “El Viejito” distillery is a family owned company founded by Mr. Indalecio Núñez Muro in 1937 in the municipality of Atotonilco, in the “highlands” of the state of Jalisco. The Highlands offer excellent conditions for tequila production, among other things for having the best land, climate, water and altitude for growing Agave, and thus for the quality of the tequilas produced in this area.  “El Viejito” started to export tequila in 1964 and in 1986  was rewarded with the “National Quality Award”. In 1992 “El Viejito” received recognition as a “high quality exporting company and for participating in the international market and for its contribution to the creation of jobs” both from the Mexican Authorities. Mr. Indalecio, and both his sons Jorge and Antonio were all Presidents of the National Tequila Industry Association and “El Viejito” was one of the founders of the Tequila Regulatory Council in 1994. El Viejito currently exports or has exported to countries such as The United States of America, Germany, France, Chile, Italy, Greece, Japan, Australia and the Philippines. “El Viejito” started operations in 2007 at its new distillery. High quality water, ripe agave, lots of experience combine to continue producing tequila as we did since the beginning. We take no shortcuts, in fact we are improving on perfection! Modern and efficient facilities, joins commitment and integrity to improve social and economic development. In addition and in reflection of company values, “El Viejito” is currently in the process of obtaining a “clean industry” certification, and has just recently been certified in HACCP.   TASTING NOTES  Full and complex notes in taste are complimented by earthy, white pepper and citrus aromas. Delicate spice and floral flavors add to the intensity of the agave. Finishes with oaky barrel textures to please the pallet  COCKTAILS CUCUMBER COOLER 2 oz Santo Reposado½ oz Cucumber Simple Syrup*½ oz Elderflower Liqueur¾ oz Fresh Lemon Juice1 Fresh Mint SprigIceGarnish: Fresh Mint Sprig | Cucumber Slices 1. In a cocktail shaker with ice add tequila, syrup, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice and mint sprig 2. Shake for 30 seconds. 3. Strain into a cocktail glass filled with ice. 4. Garnish. *Cucumber Simple Syrup:1. In a saucepan on medium heat add 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar and 1 cucumber sliced. 2. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar has dissolved. 3. Bring to a simmer for 3 minutes. 4. Take off heat and allow it to steep for 15-20 minutes.   HIBISCUS SMASH 2 oz Santo Reposado1 oz Hibiscus Tea1/2 oz Agave3/4 oz Lime Juice1/4 Cup Fresh Cilantro Leaves with Tender StemsIceGarnish: Hibiscus Leaves | Lime Wheel | Edible Flowers 1. Brew Hibiscus tea and let cool. 2. In a cocktail shaker with ice add tequila, hibiscus tea, agave, lime juice and fresh cilantro. 3. Shake for 30 seconds. 4.
