"How To Play Golf"
Limited Edition Serigraph Cel
"How To Play Golf," released in 1944 by Walt
Disney Studio, is one of the many animated films
where Goofy demonstrates his wide range of ath-
letic skills. Goofy first appeared in a Mickey
Mouse 1932 cartoon, "Mickey's Revue."
The art for this serigraph cel was carefully se-
lected by Disney artists from the original ani-
mation drawing used to produce "How To Plav
Golf." The artists used the master print of the film
as their color guide. The serigraphy artisans at
Chicago Serigraphic Workshop created thirteen
separate screens, one for each individual color,
from which the edition was printed, one color at a
time. By using this meticulous serigraph process,
the hand-crafted quality of an original cel was
achieved.
This limited edition is comprised of 9,500 seri-
graph cels. As is the custom in fine art print-
making, the silkscreens used to create the edition
were destroyed when the edition was completed.
And, just as an original print must bear the artist's
signature to ensure authenticity, each of these
serigraph cels bears the distinctive seal of the
Walt Disney Company.
"How To Play Golf" serigraph cel is fragile and
should always be framed under Plexiglass or
glass. This certificate can be affixed to the back
of the frame.
