<p>Photographer John Humble has lived in Los Angeles for thirty years. In that time he has created a strong body of work that captures the unique architecture and natural environment of Southern California. <i>A Place in the Sun</i> is a celebration of Humble's distinctive view of Los Angeles—from the concrete channels of the Los Angeles River to the instantly recognizable cityscape through which that river winds.</p>
<p>Gordon Baldwin is a former associate curator of photographs at the Getty Museum, the author of <a href="http://shop.getty.edu/products/in-focus-eugene-atget-978-0-92366019" title="In Focus: Eugène Atget" target="_blank"><i>In Focus: </i><i>Eugène Atget</i></a> (Getty Publications, 2000) and <a href="http://shop.getty.edu/products/looking-at-photographs-978-0892369713" title="Looking at Photographs: A Guide to Technical Terms, Revised Edition" target="_blank"><i>Looking at Photographs: A Guide to Technical Terms</i></a> (Getty Publications, 2009), and coauthor of <i>Nadar/Warhol: Paris/New York</i> and <i>Roger Fenton: Pasha and <i>Bayadère</i></i> (Getty Publications, 1996).</p>
